Mission
The 1607 Venture LLC is on a mission to fulfill it’s vision, to accurately depict American history, provide educational resources, and become a trusted source in American history. In order to work towards and accomplish our vision, we commit to the following.
To Accurately depict American History
We at The 1607 Venture commit to the composition of the podcast and blog. The podcast will strictly focus on American history, with an emphasis on our founding ideals, ideas, and philosophies.
This history is not blind to the dark moments of our past, yet we still see America as a wonderful place to live and a country to be proud of.
The blog will include events, places, and people of American history. It will also include current events and some bits on education.
We strive to create content (in the blog and podcast) that is historically accurate, contextually sensitive, and free of critical race theory.
To Provide Educational Resources
While the American history podcast and blog serve as educational resources, these are only the beginning.
In the future, The 1607 Venture will create educational resources for teachers, students, and parents. These resources will include standards based video lessons and worksheets that anyone can use.
We also envision ourselves providing training and professional development to aid social science teachers effectuate the best pedagogy in their classrooms and bring the social sciences to life.
The 1607 Venture envisions a future where U.S. History and Civics education are emphasized in our school system and where everybody embraces our past to pave a better future.
That is why our motto is reclaiming our past, defending our future. Our desire is to one day be a beacon of hope and illuminate the truths of our past so we can avoid the same mistakes.
To Become a Trusted Source in American History
This goal will take time, as it requires your trust and confidence. We aim to ensure that everything posted in the blog or discussed on the podcast is accurate.
We will continually add content to the blog and cover more topics in the podcast. Our aim is to eventually cover every topic imaginable about our past.
Overtime, we want to be America’s history resource and one of the most trusted sources on the web. If there is ever a discrepancy in our material, please contact us so we can correct it.
About Me
Hi, my name is Dan Ansaldo. I am a former 8th grade U.S. History teacher and I currently work with families who have experienced trauma as an Intensive In-Home Services Specialist. Think of me like a life coach. I help families improve whatever part of their life they have challenges with, from parenting to communication and everything in between.
I’m also a content writer on the side. Contact me if you need SEO content for your website. You can view my portfolio here.
I grew up in the Bay Area of California, but relocated to the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Why move from California to Missouri you may ask? Well that’s for another time and possibly a blog article.
I have a bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s degree in Education. I love American history, but I have a particular fondness for the colonial/revolutionary period that gave rise to our wonderful country.
